Week 6 Reading Diary A: Mahabharata PDE

I'm starting to get a little confused by all the characters in the story. That's why I chose to include the following image that will help me when I need to look back on how people are connected.

I have to say that while I was reading the story of Arjuna and Shiva, all I could think about was Arjuna being a little kid and throwing a tantrum to get what he wanted. He used all of his arrows at the God, and continued to do so until they were all exhausted, and then threw down his bow and insisted on them wrestling. I also thought it was really cool that Hanuman was still alive and a part of the new story. I really enjoyed reading the part on Hanuman's wisdom about the splitting of the sacred books and the stray from the truth. This caused disease and evil to come into the world. As he explained, selfishness was seen through sacrifices. Passion was seen as more important as truth in this new age. He explained the differences in the four castes. It was really interesting to read this encounter between the two brothers.
